Cake tasting boxes
-
Keep your tasting box in the refrigerator when you’re not enjoying it
-
Remove the box from the fridge 30 minutes before tasting for best texture and flavor.
At least 30 minutes before you do your tasting, remove and unwrap the slices from the box. Let them come closer to room temperature for the best textural experience.
For the best experience, taste before a meal so your palate is fresh.
Have water (and optionally a plain cracker) nearby to reset your palate between flavors.
-
The slices are arranged in the following order:
Top row (left to right):
Almond Caramel: Vanilla Almond Cake, vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream, dulce de leche caramel
Strawberry Cream Cheese: Strawberry cake, cream cheese buttercream, strawberry preserves
Lemon Raspberry: Lemon cake, cream cheese buttercream, raspberry preserves
Bottom row (left to right):
Red Velvet: Red velvet cake, cream cheese buttercream
Vanilla Chocolate Ganache: Yellow vanilla cake, vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream, semi-sweet chocolate ganache
Double Chocolate: Chocolate cake, chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream
-
Eat the flavors in the order they are arranged to go from lighter to richer flavors (i.e. first flavor is top left, last flavor is bottom right)
Start with a full bite of cake, buttercream, and filling altogether to experience how all the flavors complement one another.
Then, try each component individually: a separate bite of cake, a separate taste of buttercream, and a separate taste of filling. This allows you to appreciate the individual flavors and textures and identify which components you enjoy most.
Consider jotting down quick notes or favorites as you go—flavors can blend together over time
Each slice can be cut into 2–3 portions to share or revisit favorites
Enjoy slowly and have fun with it 🤍
